Sortable lists

I see you use a bot to make much of the content. Could you program the bot so that it makes sortable lists out of everything? For example, if I look at a certain lootable material, I would like to be able to sort by level or by drop rate. regards Hackworth 15:52, 2 December 2010 (UTC) Oh and btw - working on this wiki is pretty darn restrictve. I take it you are one of, or THE admin around here. This is a online game wiki, you should allow IPs to edit, and you should allow templates to be edited at least by registered users. As it is, it's too restrictive. Hackworth 16:30, 2 December 2010 (UTC)

ty for the glad welcome. I hope to help get a lot of information on this site. I had so much profit using this that I really wanted to do something back and this will be work hard to get as many pages completed as possible ^^ DiamondHead

Stucuk, i was wondering how to get pictures right when i create pages of new monsters. where do you get your pictures? just a print-screen or something else? as printscreen won't work when you have origin info right? DiamondHead

Two quick questions. One, do you need any help or feeds for your minecraft page? Just curious as it is the game I keep the heaviest tabs on. Also I was just curious if you have a twitter. That is all, and thanks again for the tip on the jpg images...I actually decided to READ the help section from now on. Save everybody a little grief lol. Imbrium 06:34, 7 June 2011 (UTC)

Im always looking for new Articles/Youtube Videos to add to Minecraft Info. I have two Twitter accounts, Mincraft Info's One and Game-Requirements's One. I don't have any personal Twitter accounts. The help section can teach you how to use MediaWiki Software, but it doesn't teach you the in's and outs of Atlantica Online Wiki. I only ever wrote one help article related to AOW(Most people don't seem interested in the help section).

One main difference between AOW and most Wiki's is that it uses SemanticMediaWiki, SemanticMediaWiki allows you to put properties on pages and then get it to generate lists that contain certain properties. For example when you add materials to a craftable items page, that adds properties to that page stating that material is used to craft it. On the materials page there is a semantic query that then asks the wiki to build a list of all pages which contain that materials property. So you get a "Craftable Items List" automatically generated just by adding materials to other items(Can take upto 24 hours for semantic lists to update). The idea is to make it so you only have to update one page to update everything on the wiki that relies on that piece of information. With most Wiki's the problem is that people only ever update one page, and forget to update any other page which contains duplicate information. --Stucuk 10:13, 7 June 2011 (UTC)

Needs a dismantle reward

Can you explain [1] please? Now 3 of 3 items I dismantled gave sea elements for me, any reason why they shouldn't? -- Windharp 15:13, 14 August 2011 (UTC)

Need to remove image protection

I was updating some quests and I went to change the file name of Doctor Huh (It is now Pharmacist Hwang) and it will not let me. And you need to unprotect Template NPCInfo i think so i can fix the names. Tythesly1 14:35, 28 September 2011 (UTC)

You could download the image to your hard drive and re-upload with the new filename(Iv unprotected that one but i won't do it for every protected image as there are loads). NPCInfo template does not need to be modified. --Stucuk 14:36, 28 September 2011 (UTC)
It still says that it is protected... Also how will I be able to fix the names then? Tythesly1 14:42, 28 September 2011 (UTC)
If im reading this right... I need to be put into the SySop group so I can change the file name... Tythesly1 14:46, 28 September 2011 (UTC)
You should be able to move the page. The image= is deprecated on all templates, 99% of them won't do anything when you use it. They were updated years ago to be based off the page's name which you place them on. --Stucuk 14:50, 28 September 2011 (UTC)
Im sorry... im still confused... How can I fix names exactly? I dont usually have a problem lol. Tythesly1 15:44, 28 September 2011 (UTC)
Goto Doctor Huh click move, enter "Pharmacist Hwang". Then you just need to modify the guys quests so they say "Pharmacist Hwang" instead of "Doctor Huh". --Stucuk 17:31, 28 September 2011 (UTC)

What exactly did you do to the Tai Hua Gong?

Semantics doesn't like ?? what do you mean? Also on the Title quests you changed the SemanticQuestChainID... Is that the quest number in the quest log? Tythesly1 15:39, 7 October 2011 (UTC)

You can see what was changed in the history tab, you can compare revisions to each other. SemanticQuestChainID is the order of the quest in the chain. It has nothing to do with the number you get from an NPC's lot of quests. Basically its the order you do the quests in for quests that belong to the same quest chain. On the wiki its the order of the quests on the Quest Chain page. --Stucuk 19:01, 7 October 2011 (UTC)

Semantic Web and WikiHelper

I really enjoyed the functionality provided by this wiki when I was inputting craft data. I wonder if I could somehow replicate this on . Would it be possible? If so, I would appriciate a little guidance and the code/manual for your WikiHelper. Cheers. NicolasJager 04:32, 8 February 2012 (UTC)

I am not prepared to give out the code to the WikiHelper(Its internals are also a mess). Basically i created a PHP Script which reads the pages of the wiki from the database and outputs it in its raw format in batches of 100 pages(So 100 pages are outputed by the script when a request is made to it). The WikiHelper basically asks for 100 pages at a time from the script. It then goes through each page and looks for key words (Like fixed=) and builds a database up about what the fixed price/etc is for each page. It then replaces bits of the page with the new craftprice/etc that it generates and edits each page(Only ones which need to be updated) manually on the wiki to update them. --Stucuk 12:22, 8 February 2012 (UTC)
I didn't expect a response so soon, seeing as your last edit was in Nov.. Anyways, thanks for the info. I took a few programming courses a while back, but mostly focused on Java... only briefly covering Javascript and PHP. I suppose I'll have to refresh my memory at if I want to progress with this idea. Currently though, as a graduate student, I'm not sure I'll have the time.
I do still have one question about the WikiHelper, though. Is it a program you have to physically execute each time (for each 100 pages), or is it constantly running? If it's constantly running, do you have to maintain a server for it? NicolasJager 20:08, 8 February 2012 (UTC)
From December i have been focusing on Tarr Chronicles and Dark Horizon's Maintenance, everything else has been on hold(To be precise i was adding mod support and making an SDK). I always check my sites every day, no matter how often i update them.
I should have been more clear, WikiHelper is just a regular application on my hard drive but it contacts a PHP Script on the site to get all of the pages of the wiki in batches of 100 (it downloads in batches of 100 so that the connection doesn't timeout). Generally with wiki's you would make a bot which uses the MediaWiki API (Its a script called api.php, defaultly in the main wiki directory) but i didn't want bots running on AOW so i created my own system.
It would be possible to make a PHP Script which does it all, though you would require hosting for the script. --Stucuk 22:11, 8 February 2012 (UTC)

Accessing a List of Pages with Assumed Price

Hey Stucuk, it's been quite a while, but I've recently returned to the Atlantica community. I was looking around, and it seems this wiki is still the best resource for finding craft information. However, many of the assumed prices need updating, so I was looking for an easy way to access a list of all items with assumed prices.
If you to goto Special:Ask and enter + in the query and ?assumedprice in the additional printouts bit, Hit Find Results and it will show all pages with an assumedprice aswell as the current assumedprice. For any lists you want which are unlikely to be useful to the general public it would be best to just add semantic properties to the page rather than cluttering pages up with category tags. --Stucuk 01:35, 9 July 2009 (UTC)
(sorry, I couldn't find how to display a quote)

Anyway, I tried the above today, but I got the error: "Semantic queries have been disabled for this wiki." when I visited . Did you disable semantic queries? If so, why? How else can I accomplish my goal to view all items with an assumed price? NicolasJager 00:56, 7 July 2013 (UTC)
